October Tchotchkes of the Month

Frankenstein Jewelry box from @cutecreepycrapshop

Somewhere the stars aligned and @cutecreepycrapshop landed in my IG newsfeed. I’ve been eyeing up their super fun, kitschy custom jewelry boxes ever since. I saw the Frankenstein one and knew it was meant for me. Frankenstein’s monster is one of my favorite spooky/Halloween characters. Just take a look at this glorious box 🙂

Frankenstein shirt from Dolls Kill

It’s been a random yearly tradition to take Halloween pics in my Beetlejuice striped pants with some type of graphic tee. Found this one on Dolls Kill and again – knew it had to be mine. I love it. (shot on Revolog Tesla 35mm film)

Starburst filters for camera

I bought these earlier in the month as a birthday gift. I’ve seen other photographers use them and I love how the effect they can create. These have a rotation ring so you can adjust where the burst lands. It also came with 4, 6, and 8 points. I used the 8 point one for these. Make sure you google the right filter size for your lens before ordering.

When Two Feathers Fell From the Sky

I bought this book and finished it in November. I pulled it from the Hey Alma favorite books for Fall list. To be honest, it wasn’t my favorite read. I also prefer nonfiction to fiction, so that’s a thing. But I make myself choose fiction books once in awhile. It was decent. (image cred: NPR)

Boo Stew and Bonaparte Falls Apart

These were the two little books I bought for my kiddos this month. Both good reads, with fun illustrations.

Beetlejuice Shirt from Passive Juice Motel and striped pants from Dreaming Kids01

Every year I also like to try and get photos of my kiddos in striped Beetlejuice pants and a Halloween shirt. I’ve done Beetlejuice a few years prior, and the Beetlejuice look with the makeup is my favorite one we’ve done so far so we decided to do it again this year.

My website art from @BrainFkr

A birthday gift from my sister. I’m obsessed with the logo she got for her blog so she got me a gift card for the same artist. I used it for a custom piece for my blog. Hit the Home page to go back and see 🙂
